Summer is here by: Renée Watson and Bea Jackson

Summer is Here is a book that brought me nostalgia, from the ice cream to the cookouts and jumping rope. I loved the way the illustrator and author added dimension to the story with the words being incorporated into the imagery and even describing how the main character interacted with the summer smells. I love that the characters were children of diversity. This book was a feel-good book for me, especially because it is about summer, my favorite season, and it definitely brought back many fun memories. I think your little ones will enjoy this one, too.
